The 13th annual edition of this year’s World Radio Day is here. On February the 13th radio stations around the world will come together to celebrate the power of radio and how it remains an essential tool for entertainment and communication.

This year’s theme, “Radio and Climate Change: A Powerful Tool for Climate Action”, highlights the vital role radio plays in one of the most pressing challenges in the modern world. Whether it’s spreading awareness about climate change, providing critical information during natural disasters like fires and storms, or promoting the voices of environmental activists, radio continues to be a powerful platform for action. Despite the rise of podcasts, social media, and streaming services, radio remains as relevant as ever. Its accessibility makes it one of the most effective ways to reach people

Radio stations across the world will be filled with exciting interviews and special broadcasts, including here on Boom Radio. Where will officially launch the station for 2025 on World Radio Day, with April and Asha starting us off for Breakfast from 7am-10am. Rhylan & Angus will get you through the workday, with Connor, George and Chris finishing off this special world radio day broadcast from 4pm to 7pm.

Throughout the day, we’ll be speaking to a wide range of radio personalities, including Sam Trusso from NOVA 93.7, Carly Portch and Robbie Von Klitzing from Triple M, Seb Clarke from 6PR Perth, and Ben Carney from Hit 106.9 Newcastle
