WAFL Grand Final date set
By Jevan Collins
On Monday it was announced by WAFC chairman Wanye Martin that the WAFL grand final will be played on Saturday the 2nd of October after missing 2 rounds of the season (round 4 and 16) due to covid.
This year the WAFL grand final will return to Optus Stadium after last years decider being played at Fremantle oval between south Fremantle and Clermont, the WAFL grand final is usually played the week before the AFL grand final but because of the missed rounds due to covid, they added the missing round to the back end of the fixtures.
The WAFL finals system will remain the same as a top 5 after being scrapped last year for a top 4 as the West Coast WAFL had to pull out and head over to Queensland in the hub, game times have also been set for the big dance with the reserves kicking us off at 9:20 am for the fourth year in a row. The colts bouncedown is at 12:10 pm to allow channel 7 to broadcast the game to all the scouts over in Victoria and the day will finish with the league at 3:20 pm with a kick to kick scheduled for fans after the game.
So make sure you get down to Optus Stadium on the 2nd of October to see who wins the 137th WAFL premiership.
