Perth Demons Vs Subiaco 11-109
Perth was missing up to 6 of their stars on Thursday night when they met Subiaco at Mineral Resources Park and it really showed as it was the Ben Sokol show as he booted 6 goals for the game and 5 in the first quarter. Overall, the Lions were a class above the Demons as it took them to the last quarter to kick their first goal.
Perth Wildcats Vs Melbourne United 64-78
This game was very important for both teams as who ever won cemented top spot on the NBL ladder, The wildcats had already secured home court advantage in the playoffs so they took the chance to rest Mitch Norton and give younger players a go such as the likes of Luke Travers and Corey Shervill who scored a combined 16 points, but the star power of Melbourne United came through when it had to, to lock in top spot.
Claremont Vs West Coast Reserves 93-66
On paper this game should have been an easy win for the tigers, but it was anything but for the first 3 quarters as the eagles kept in touching difference of last year grand finalist, For the first time in weeks the eagles were competitive, but it took a massive 49 disposals effort from Jhye Bolton and a massive last quarter to get them across the line.
Peel Thunder Vs Swan Districts 59-67
This game was a tight tussle from the start as both teams fight for a spot in the top 5 Peel had to bounce back after there loss last week and swans were coming off a big win and something had to give and what did was peels inaccuracy in front of the sticks kicking 7 goals and 17 behinds, In the end swans better kicking got the job done.
Carlton Vs West Coast 73-95
The Eagles had to bounce back after fading out last week against Essendon, if you were going to get the Eagles at anytime it would be now for Carlton as the Eagles were without a host of stars and even lost one more in game to concussion, Carlton put up a good fight with Sam Walsh, Eddie Betts and Adam Sadd all being there best but it was the Eagles time to celebrate at the SCG for the first time since 1999.
Fremantle Vs Western Bulldogs 65-93
Both of these teams had to bounce back after coming off losses and Fremantle provided the highlights early with Andrew Brayshaw kicking one of the goals of the year and that where it stopped for the Dockers as the bulldogs showed there class and Aaron Naughton marking prowess with 13 contested marks, the night then got worst for the Dockers as one by one solders were going down left right and center with Griffin Louge, Sean Darcy, Nat Fyfe and Brendan cox all going down in a 5 minute period.
East Perth Vs West Perth 76-119
This is one of the original derbies to take place on WA as West Perth showed the rest of the WAFL they mean business heading into finals as they beat second bottom East Perth by 43 points on a day where Tyler Keitel stared with 8 goals to be awarded best a field.
East Fremantle Vs South Fremantle 58-74
If you watched the first minutes of this game you probably thought it would be another 100 point derby win to South Fremantle but that wasn’t the case as East Fremantle held their own against the reigning premier with a dominant patch in the second quarter but they could not translate that to goals, But the wise heads of South Fremantle got the job done and continued their derby dominance as well as make it 12 straight wins at shark park.
