It is the abduction case everyone in WA, Australia, and the world had their eyes on after 4-year-old Cleo Smith went missing after camping with her family at the blowhole’s campsite north of Carnarvon on the 16th of October.
Cleo was camping with her family at the campsite when in the early hours of the 16 she woke up at 1:30 am to ask her mum if she could have some water and then went back to bed when her mum woke up about 6:00 she found that Cleo was not in her sleeping bag and the tent had been unzipped police were called a short time later.
The police ruled out that Cleo had simply wandered off out of the tent as the zip to the tent was too high for her to reach. The police had also ruled out that her family had been taken her and that had been abducted.
Cleo was found in a locked house 7 minutes away from her own in Carnarvon, the police stormed the house 1 am this morning to find a little girl in a room, as the officer picked her up he asked “What is your name” her response will haunt the officer for the rest of his life “My name is Cleo” she was reunited with her family a short time later a 36-year-old man was taken in police custody.
Neighbors of the man reported him to police as only two days before she was found on Monday he was spotted at Woolworths buying nappys’s which was very strange considering the man does not have any children another neighbor reported that she could hear a girl crying but it didn’t click that it could have been Cleo.
