9 Move on from Glory
By Jevan Collins
After an up and down season in which saw the glory finish in the bottom 4 and having to qualify for the FFA and promise so much with a new coach and new strike force. A season where the Glory were going to be competitive that was not the case as it took them till May to keep there first clean sheet of the campaign.
Yesterday 9 players were let go from the Glory, Goalkeeper Tando Valaphi, Defenders, Jason Geria, Dane Ingham, Sebastian Langkamp and Riley Warland. Midfielders, Neil Kilkenny who was told his services were no longer needed at the club before the season even finished, Nick Sullivan and for the second time Brandon Wilson, But the biggest surprise forward Nick D’Agostino who is most likely to join former coach Tony Popovic at Melbourne victory next season.
So what does the Glory look like for next season who knows, but they will probably be without there danger man Diego Castro who’s retired, But what we do know is that there will be Liam Reddy in goal for the next 2 seasons, new signing Jack Clisby from Central Coast, Andy Keogh who needs to score more goals then last season , Bruno Fornaroli who also signed for 2 more years and Chris Ikonomidis who came off an injury late in the season.
So if Glory wants to be competitive next season there going to have to do some big signings in the off-season and work more as a team because season 2021/22 starts in October and is right around the corner.
