AGONY AND ECSTACY: Will we see this again on Grand Final day in 2019? Photo: Herald Sun

PROGNOSTICATION as you well know is bold and very often wildly different to eventual outcomes. If this is anything to go by, former Carlton and Fitzroy, coach of four different clubs and long-time commentator Robert Walls predicted last season’s premiers, the West Coast Eagles to finish as wooden spooners. Last season saw some surprises and this season will, West Coast were not expected to win the flag, Adelaide missed the finals, Collingwood made the Grand Final after a five-year finals absence, Melbourne reached September after 12 years out and Hawthorn found its way back into the top four. So, without further ado here are my predictions for what will hopefully be a topsy-turvy, rollercoaster of a season ahead.

Here’s my crystal ball broken up into awards, headlines and ladders:

Premier: Collingwood

Runner-up: Essendon

Wooden spoon: Gold Coast

Moving up: Essendon

Set to fall: Geelong

Brownlow Medal: Steele Sidebottom (Collingwood)

Coleman Medal: Josh Kennedy (West Coast)

NAB AFL Rising Star: Izak Rankine (Gold Coast)

Recruit of the year: Aaron Hall (North Melbourne)

Surprise All-Australian: Aaron Hall

Headline you’ll see: Josh Kelly joins Essendon on a record 11-year deal worth $2.5 million dollars a year.

Headline you won’t see: Sun-rise: Gold Coast overcome the odds to win their first flag.

Buzzword or phrase of the year: ‘FREE AGENCY!’

Which free agent will change clubs? Matthew Kruezer (Carlton)

Game-changer: New rule changes will see major coaching adaptations.

Pass the tissues: Gary Ablett tares his ACL and retires effective immediately.

50 cent buys $3000 worth of Ja Rule concert tickets, to ensure the first row is empty

The feud between rappers 50 Cent and Ja Rule has continued. 50 Cent has claimed that he purchased 200 front row tickets to a Ja Rule concert recently, just so the front row would be empty.

50 Cent uploaded a photoshopped photo to Instagram earlier this week, showing himself sitting in an empty crowd of seats. Ja Rules show in Arlington, Texas on November 9thwill be the show with a large section of the crowd missing, all thanks to 50 Cent.

This comes as one of the many events in the 20 year old fued between the two. The pair have both released a number of diss tracks in spite of each other, and the feud doesn’t seem to be close to ending.
