Indonesia’s Lombok Island has suffered another serious earthquake. According to both witnesses and Indonesia’s metreology and geophysics agency, the quake has caused buildings in the area to collapse and people to run onto the streets. The quake has been registered with a magnitude of 6.2.
The quake is the third to strike Lomboke in just over a week. The first quake occurred on July 29 and killed at least 16 people, another quake on Sunday was registered at 6.9 magnitude and killed a minimum of 131 individuals. Tens of thousands on the island are also now homeless.
According to Indonesia’s geolocial agency, the quake was located in the north-west of the island but won’t have the potential to create a tsunami.
