Another Eagle leaves the nest as Sam Butler calls time

West Coast Eagles sole remaining 2006 premiership player Sam Butler has officially called time on his AFL career effective immediately.

Sam Butler was drafted at pick number 20 in the 2003 National Draft making his debut in 2004 and playing in the 2006 AFL Grand Final win by the Eagles against the Swans.

He had an injury ravaged career only getting up to his 100th game after his tenth season in the game, before eventuating to 166 career games in a 14 season career.

He joins Sam Mitchell and Matthew Priddis in announcing that 2017 will be there last and an ever growing list of legends in 2017.
